Open Access, Copyright & Licensing

JMHMR provides immediate open access to published articles. Readers do not pay a subscription or access charge to read journal articles online.

Author rights

Authors retain copyright. By submitting and approving publication, authors authorise the journal to publish and identify the article as part of the scholarly record. Authors must hold the rights required to publish all submitted material.

CC BY 4.0

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Reuse, distribution and adaptation, including commercial reuse, are permitted subject to the licence conditions, including appropriate credit, a link to the licence and an indication of changes. Reuse must not imply author or journal endorsement.

Read the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Third-party material

Authors must obtain permission for material not covered by a compatible licence or legal exception. Credit lines must identify any material excluded from the article’s licence and explain the relevant rights. Readers may need separate permission for excluded material.

Repository sharing

Authors may deposit preprints, accepted manuscripts and the published version in appropriate repositories. After publication, include the complete journal citation and a link to the version of record, adding a DOI only if one has been assigned. Repository deposit does not replace the journal’s version history or correction notices.
